The Subway Poet

SUBWAY MINISTRY: Moving people in a way no subway train can.

He opens every poetic recital pouring out his soul with one of the poems he's written that honor the Triune Godhead. Then with the spirit, talent and inspiration that God has given him, he recites convincingly about love- real love- and relationships; family get-togethers; social relationships; love toward God and your fellow man.
What makes Doctor Groove's poetry excitingly different? His audience. He's able to reach all age groups, all nationalities and a plethora of income groups. Where can a poet find such a variety? In the subway- Chicago's subway. It is the subway where Doctor Groove has found his groove. Stella ain't got nothing on him.
Doctor Groove. He's caried that moniker or stage name since his days as a (deejay/rapper) from the late 70's or early 80's. Earning some of his acting ability and stage presence at the expense of Lindbloom High School and Kentucky State College/University theatrical departments, Dr. Groove (a.k.a Geoffrey Keith Watts), has parlayed that foundation into a series of entertainment ventures.
His poetry is spiritual and healing. Countless individuals have approached him with requests to write a poem regarding a problem they are experiencing. Birds with clipped wings, unable to fly, requesting the Doctor to restore what has been lost.
Not only has he witnessed testimonials regarding revived lives and relationships, but there are countless testimonials that he's unaware of.
Poetry that touches the heart. Poetry that helps you reflect- on you; your life; your relationships.
Lyricist, rapper, manager, poet. I believe he has finally met his calling. This is where his life is making a difference.
