If it was not for you Father God
Who would be listening?
In the dark of the night when I'm turning and
twisting
From thoughts of some of the wrong I have done
(I am scared to tell most people I know for fear
they may tell someone)
If it was not for you Father God
The dark of the night would swallow me like an
abyss
But I know through the fog and the mist
If I confess my sins and repent, I still have a
chance to be heaven sent
So I cry out to you Father God!
Please forgive me for the wrong I have done!
At the time I committed any offence, I call myself
having fun
I really did not mean to hurt anyone
I have skeletons in my closet the size of
dinosaurs
Please put a lock on the door, I do not want to look
anymore
Inside I scream - make me a new human being!
So I can take my wings and soar
I do not want to be who I am anymore
So I cry out to you Father God - my arms
outstretched
I am praying in the name of Jesus that you will save
me next
Turn me upside down, shake me out and then play
catch
Because I am a wretch, I confess, my life is a
mess
I desire to be eternally blessed…add a new
chapter to my life
This time I want to get it right - My future can
still be bright
Today I accept Jesus Christ! Hallelujah is the
highest praise
So I shout Hallelujah! Father God please change my
ways
I step to you boldly and I am insisting
If it was not for you, who would be listening?
I am on a mission, I desire to change my lowly
position
Answer my call, it is only you who cares
I confess you gave your only begotten Son so
that
I could have an eternal one - so with you this
confessional I share
Please accept this sinner's prayer!
